THE CASHEL SWEDED FILM FESTIVAL.
CASHEL ARTS FEST
October – November 2008

Sweded Films are the peoples’ art, they are THE new DIY entertainment medium for the twenty-first century, made on the lowest possible budget, with props that wouldn’t be out of place in a pre-school craft room. The films last no longer than 10 minutes. They are (sometimes) lovingly faithful little vignettes of full movies or careful (rarely) re-workings of classic scenes. They are (nearly) always funny.

Here's what it says on the Internet:
Sweded films began when fans of Michel Gondry's, Be Kind Rewind, (starring Jack Black and Mos Def ) took up the idea of "sweding”. In the film the lead characters take classic films and remake them into short films using domestic film cameras. Since the film's release, fans have started making their own Sweded films and then letting the world laugh out loud by putting them on video sites all over the internet.

Cashel Arts Festival challenges the world to submit Sweded films for the coveted Cashel Swede d’Or.

It’s a black T-shirt event, in an Irish Pub (where else) ………and don’t forget it’s you the audience who gets to vote for best in show.

Entries for the Cashel Swede D’Or film Festival should be sent

RULES
Entries should be submitted on DVD or CD and be compatible with Windows Media Player. Films should last no longer than 10 minutes and should be Sweded from movies made after 1960.

Please note this festival is family friendly and we hope that your film will be enjoyed by all our festival goers, if you think it is “Parental Advisory” we probably wont show it (but we 'll laugh our socks off in private).

Please indicate on the Disc your name, age and email details. If you would NOT like your film to appear on a You Tube Channel please write NO YOU TUBE on the disc.

Final date for receipt of entries is October 5th 2008.

No discs will be returned unless accompanied by an appropriate Stamped Self Addressed Envelope and for overseas entrants the correct international postal coupon.

The winner of the Cashel Swede D’Or 2008 will be judged by audience participation during the Cashel Arts Fest 2008.
